Advising your doctor of your cultural background will enable the provision of healthcare specific to your needs.


Interpreter Services

Interpreter services are available on request. It is essential that those patients with limited English skills have an interpreter present and book a long appointment with the doctor.

Another friend or family member may act as the interpreter if their language skills are good and the patient has given their consent.


Getting Results of any Test or Procedure

Our practice abides by a strict privacy and confidentiality policy. And appointment is necessary to obtain test results.

Results are not given by our staff over the phone. Your doctor will advise when they expect results to arrive at the practice.

Please make an appointment to see your regular doctor.



Please take x-rays with you into the consultation and then home again.

We cannot store them at the Practice and they will be disposed of accordingly if not collected within 3 months.


Reminder System

Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included on our reminder system.

We may issue you with a reminder letter from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care.

If you do not wish to be part of this system please advise your doctor.


Telephoning your Doctor

Although most problems are best dealt with in consultation, a doctor will always be available during normal practice hours for emergency advice. If the matter is of an urgent nature, we are happy to interrupt consultation time to speak with you.

Otherwise our receptionist will take your name and telephone number and the doctor will return your call at the end of the day.

It is important that you adequately indicate the degree of urgency when phoning so that our receptionist is able to deal with your call appropriately.


Management of your Personal Health Information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised staff members.

As employers we are obligated to provide a safe workplace for our doctors and staff.

Patients who verbally abuse or threaten our doctors or staff will be asked to leave the practice and seek their care elsewhere.
